ASME IWG V

The Germany International Working Group (IWG) serves as a subordinate group, operating within the Charter of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Committee on Nondestructive Examination (BPV V) and the scope of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section V, Nondestructive Examination.

The Germany IWG provides for the participation in BPVC Section V development by technical expert members, based primarily in Germany.

The Germany International Working Group will:

a) Initiate and process proposed standards actions, with ASME Certificate holders and other interested users of the ASME Code, for consideration by BPV V;

b) Review and provide comments on proposed revisions to BPV V;

c) Conduct technical and administrative activities related to BPVC Section V development in accordance with approved ASME procedures, policies, and established guidelines;

d) Coordinate IWG activities with its parent committee and ASME staff; e) Encourage users of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code to contribute to Committee work.

I am a member of IWG V.

In a way, the working group is also the "link" to ASME.

There are currently 4 meetings per year. In each case 2x as an online meeting and 2x as a face-to-face event in Hattingen.

The meetings are open to the public. You are welcome to attend one of the next meetings to learn more about the IWG V or to get to know the members personally.

By the way, in addition to IWG V, there are of course also working groups for all other code sections such as Section I, Section VIII and/or Section IX!
